One of the
most common question today - What is the difference between Brow Shading and
Microblading? Though Brow Shading and Microblading seem like the same
kind of thing, they are extremely different. In the semi permanent makeup
industry, Microblading has just recently gained popularity. It is fairly a new
technique. Both Microblading and Brow Shading can be highly beneficial to those
people who are suffering from cancer (chemotherapy), alopecia, vitiligo,
genetic anomalies, and scars. A person who lacks full eyebrow hairs or simply
cannot produce eyebrow hair is a perfect example. Let us clear up the confusion
between the two procedures -
Permanent Makeup - Brow Shading
Brow
Shading is a kind of Permanent Makeup, and it is a form of cosmetic tattooing
known as derma-pigmentation, micro-pigmentation, and permanent cosmetics. Lips,
eyeliner, and eyebrows are the traditional areas where the permanent makeup is
applied to. Getting a permanent makeup is a kind of the same thing as a permanent
tattoo. Generally a permanent makeup artist uses a tattoo machine to lodge ink
into the dermis, which helps them in keeping the control on exactly how deep a
tattoo will penetrate. There are few complications that are attached to permanent
makeup like allergies to pigments, skin peeling / cracking, scars, blistering, infection,
keloids, and granulomas. It is highly recommended to go for a permanent makeup artist
who has required certification of different brow shading courses.
Many inexperienced permanent makeup artists use regular tattoo ink while
shading the eyebrows which can not only change colour over time but also have
dangerous minerals like mercury and cobalt in them. An experienced and well
informed permanent makeup artist will always use safe techniques and inks. When
it comes to permanent makeup that involves the eyebrows, generally a powder fill
technique is used to give the brows a fuller and denser look. The only issue
with brows shading is its lack of ability to provide a full and natural look which
Micro blading achieves within no time. Generally unknowing clients go to a
traditional permanent tattoo artist who ends up outline eyebrows and fill them
with colour that gives the eyebrow very unnatural look.
Semi Permanent Hair Strokes - Microblading
A manual
method of inserting pigment giving hair like strokes in the epidermis is called
Micro Blading, it is used to give the brows a fuller look. In Micro Blading the
natural-looking eye brows are achieved with a hand-held, sharp manual blade
made up of micro needles. It not only outlines and completely fills the outline
of the eyebrows with colour, but also allows for the inserting the hair strokes
into the skin. In traditional tattooing, an artist uses a needle on a coil /
rotary machine to implant pigment up to 7 layers deep in the skin, whereas in Micro
blading a manual blade is used only up to 3 layers of skin. Since the pigment are
implanted in the skin the hair like strokes look crisp, sharp, and they look a
lot like real hair!
